My name is Zorana, and dogs have been my greatest passion and fascination for as long as I can remember. But it was on my 18th birthday that this love deepened into something more — a journey into the world of dog breeding and canine science. That summer, I worked tirelessly in hospitality on the Montenegrin coast, saving every penny until I finally bought Bak — the dog who became my best friend, my partner, and my companion for 17 incredible years, and who opened the door to my lifelong journey in cynology.
Bak entered my life and elevated it in ways I never imagined possible, opening my heart to a depth of love, devotion, and friendship I had never known before.
Inspired by Bak, I soon embarked on my journey into the world of cynology, focusing on two extraordinary breeds: the Epagneul Breton and the Pomeranian. Over the years, I lovingly raised numerous litters and proudly bred many champions — European, and even World Champions.
But life had its own plans. Love brought me from Serbia to Switzerland, and with me came my beloved dogs. During this move, I personally faced the challenges and stress of importing pets into Switzerland — a process that was complex, demanding, and emotionally intense.
At first, settling into a small apartment meant pausing my active breeding, but my passion for dogs and my commitment to responsible, ethical breeding never diminished.
It was this insight that inspired me to go beyond breeding and offer something more: to help dog lovers outside my own litters. I began providing personalized consulting and matching services, helping people not just choose any dog, but the right dog for their life and heart.
Along the way, I also witnessed the darker side of the dog world — irresponsible breeders and dealers deceiving people with illegally imported dogs, causing immense suffering as these innocent animals, lacking proper documentation, were placed in quarantine or, heartbreakingly, euthanized. These experiences only strengthened my determination to help and led me to expand my services to include assistance with safe and legal import documentation, ensuring that every dog arrives home protected and secure.
And then, life presented another challenge — one I experienced personally: where to leave my own dogs during unexpected absences or illness, knowing they would receive the same level of care, love, and attention they were used to, without the stress of being housed with large groups of unfamiliar dogs. This personal experience inspired me to offer an exclusive, one-dog boarding service, a home-away-from-home where dogs are cared for as family.
And that’s how ChampionDogs.ch was born — with a heartfelt mission to help dog lovers safely, ethically, and legally find their perfect companion. Because every dog deserves a loving home, every human deserves a lifelong friend, and every dog staying away from home deserves the same care, love, and comfort they’re used to — a true home-away-from-home. This love and devotion have been immortalized in books, both in those written about my dogs and me, and in the ones I now write myself, dedicated to celebrating dogs and the bond we share with them.
